The iCub Humanoid Robot
Our current research is implemented on the iCub robotic platform. The iCub is an advanced humainoid robot with 53 degrees of freedom, binocular vision, binaural hearing, vestibular sense, as well as proprioceptive and force/torque sense. We received the robot (which we have since named Bert), in Feburary of 2010 as a grant from euCognition and the RobotCub project (http://www.robotcub.org).
Previous work in the lab was focused around our three highly modified Trilobots from Arrick Robotics. These wheeled robots also had binocular vision and binaural hearing, in addition to a single degree of freedom claw, and rudimentary tacticle sense.
